Itinerary 7: Parco Nazionale della Sila
Can easily be reached by different routes:

1) driving along the SS 180 in only 20 minutes you arrive at Sersale, a town situated 800 m above sea level where you can admire the falls of Campanaro and the Canyons of the Cupe Valleys, proceeding for another 10 minutes you reach the village of Buturo at 1500 m above sea level. In just 30 minutes from the sea you have now reached the National Park, an amazingly immersed in dense and extensive vegetation of pine, fir and beech trees inhabited by squirrels, wild boars, wolves and deer, where you can collect all kinds of mushrooms, go for walks and picnics. Travelling yet a few kilometres in the midst of enchanting woods, you can reach the characteristic Mancuso Village, or the Ampollino lake and the Palumbo Village where there is also a ski resort.

 

2) Travelling along the SS 106 past Crotone and taking the SS 107 in less than 1 hour you arrive at San Giovanni Fiore a large town of the Sila area, you can visit monastery of Gioacchino da Fiore, the Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie and the Folklore Museum; proceeding yet again for about 20 minutes you arrive at Camigliatello you are once more immersed in the rich vegetation of the National Park with the Cecita lake, a modern ski lift that reaches 1765 m above sea level. Not far from San Giovanni Fiore there is also Lorica on lake Arvo, another beautiful mountain resort.
